about

The story of the making of Wonderful's "Wake Up To Dreamland" is as epic as the music itself. Created over a span of five years between 2005 and 2010, this album is the culmination of a 15-year collaborative musical journey between Jason Holstrom, Jon e. Rock, Peter Sali, and Noah Star Weaver. Recording sessions began in Spring of 2005, interspersed among numerous national tours and trips to Japan with their 7-piece dance-pop band, U.S.E (United State of Electronica). The boys brought their recording gear and set up makeshift cabin studios in remote locations throughout the Pacific Northwest, seeking inspiration from the ocean, mountains, rivers, lakes, and forests with which they surrounded themselves. The songs were born and took on a life of their own over dozens of weekend and week-long recording sabbaticals to places such as Cannon Beach, Mount Ranier, the Skagit River, and floating cabins in the North Cascades. The beauty of these natural settings suffused the music they made, resulting in a collection of expansive pop songs overflowing with the sounds of echoing valleys, mountaintops, and ocean depths; of thunderclaps, tidal waves, and beach monsoons; of sunrise birdsong, angel choirs, and a singing dog. A spirit of friendship and brotherhood emanates from the heart of these songs, created by four best friends in their element - cooking over the campfire, gazing up into the starry cosmos, witnessing the sunrise illuminate a majestic landscape. The title "Wake Up To Dreamland" evokes the experiences the Wonderful boys shared during these adventures, collectively imagining these songs into being, and hearing their dreams became reality before their very ears…
